Record a few clips of your instrument playing across its range. Ferment analyzes the spectrum and harmonic signature to create a detailed digital profile of how your instrument sounds when you play it — capturing not just the instrument itself, but your playing style.
This profile helps Magic generate AI presets tailored to your sound and adapts Machine's sweet spot arcs to your instrument's character. The result: effects that feel like they were built for your setup.
Recording
Create your instrument profile
Creating a new profile is simple:
1. Record base samples
Record at least three 10-second clips at different intensities — quiet, medium and loud. Play different tones across your instrument's range to capture the full spectrum.
2. Add playing techniques
Optionally add up to 5 additional techniques — fingerpicking, bowing, slap, harmonics, muted strings — whatever defines your playing style.
3. Analyze and profile
Ferment analyzes the recordings and creates a digital profile — a sonic fingerprint of your instrument and how you play it.
4. Choose harmonic correction
Select a harmonic correction profile that adjusts secondary harmonic frequencies during playback.
